Inyectable Lincomicin

The first choice for the treatment of superficial pyodermas.

Description:

Antibiotic belonging to the group of Lincosamides. It is bacteriostatic, having an inhibitory action on bacterial protein synthesis, as it reversibly binds to the ribosomal 50s subunit of the bacteria, blocking the translocational movement of RNAm, and consequently the stretching of the polypeptide.

Formula:

Each bottle contains:
Lincomycin (Monohydrate Hydrochloride) 15.0 g
Vehicle q.s.p. 100 ml

Indications

  • First choice for the treatment of superficial pyoderma
  • Prostate abscesses and abscesses in general
  • Osteomyelitis
  • Pneumonia
  • Pre and post surgical treatments (Digestive and trauma surgeries)
  • Infectious processes involving:
    • Gram-positive microorganisms: Staphylococcus (aureus, intermedius, beta-hemolytic), Streptococcus, Clostridium tetani, Clostridium swelchii.
    • Gram negative microorganisms: Escherichia coli, Bacillus (anthracis and cereus).
    • Mycoplasma, Actinomyces and some Nocardia.
    • Corynebacterium, Erysipelothrix and Campylobacter.

Dose and route of administration:

Injectable administration.

Apply intramuscularly, subcutaneously or intravenously 1 ml for every 10 kg of weight every 12 hours or at the indication of the Veterinarian. The duration of the treatment is variable, suggesting a minimum period of 7 and a maximum of 30 days. For intravenous use, dilute at least 100 ml of parenteral solution by slow infusion.
